Why harrow your pastures and hay fields?

A few weeks into a lawn renovation can be a harrowing time if it's new for you-- it can look patchy and uneven, but have the faith, this is when things will start to kick in if you stick with the right steps: MOW! This happens sooner than you might think. Cut as soon as a decent amount of it's 2" or so tall. The whole lawn won't be tall enough to get cut, but more will with each successive mow. Do this as often as you can manage-- the grass can handle getting stepped on (but don't be aggressive)
