2010年7月11日 · No, there is nothing special about it because it is an RV, but there is a certain minimum size/capacity needed by the V10 engine. Any auto parts store or battery outlet can replace it with one of the same size/capacity. I don't share Wizard46's negative opinion of Walmart batteries, though.

2009年5月16日 · The 3-valve V10 is similar in horsepower to the 8.1L V8, but the V8 runs at lower rpms to produce it. Many people find that lower rpms (less noise) to be less stressful on the occupants. Or another way to look at it, some V10 owners are unwilling to utilize all the power it has available due to fear of high rpms and engine noise.

2014年2月28日 · The 7.3L Ford engine replaces the V10 which is a good engine but fuel hungry, loud, and needs high revs to reach it best torque. The 7.3 was designed to have a lot of low rev torque similar to a diesel engine characteristics. It is also better on fuel consumption than the V10.

2016年5月1日 · The newer Ford V-10 is (A) the only gas engine available in new coaches and one of the best/most bulletproof engins out there. (B) The new 6 speed is better than its predecessors. Your mileage is not going to be great but I would forcast 6-9+ and maybe a little more after break in.Yes the engine is made to run at hi RPM but you can't over rev it.

I've done a bit of research on this engine & have seen the problems the early ones had with blowing spark plugs, I assume Ford has taken care of this problem. The other issue is the mpg on a V-10 vs. a V-8. The coach I get will be no longer than 24 ft.

2015年6月16日 · Our first RV was a 2013 35' gasser, made by Coachmen, with the same V10 engine. We towed a 4door Jeep Wrangler with that RV without issue. We did go slower than cars and diesels up hills, but since I was always on vacation for those drives, it never bothered me. My only concern was the loud engine noise in that RV.

2015年6月28日 · the V10 has 10 cylinders in a 6,8L engine compared to the V8 with 8 cylinders in a 8,1L engine This comparaison of FORD V10 and Vortec V8 is like comparing the revs of a 3,0L V12 Ferrari engine versus a 5,0 V8 FORD... there is no comparaison in revs what so ever, and that stock V12 will developp just as much HP and probably more then the stock V8.
