To benefit from auto hdr, I think that a game probably had to be developed with hdr lighting in the rendering pipeline, which only started being implemented in the mid-2000s, or so. I like playing a bunch of older games, and have already observed auto hdr completely washing out the contrast of Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts, and Daytona USA.

2021年6月28日 · For some reason, although native hdr in games looks great..some games with auto hdr has looked off. Such as Gears 1 ultimate edition. Seems to be a hit or miss when it comes to auto hdr. At least in my experience. Edit: I did try auto hdr with Dead Space and from what I recall that looked good..but that game is mostly dark lol

I feel like most games either come out too washed out or gray, too dark in darker scenes, too washed out in light scenes.
