We characterize mice carrying spontaneous genetic mutations genetically, genomically and phenotypically prior to making them available to researchers. The Mouse Mutant Resource (MMR) encourages the use of these unique disease models, maintaining and distributing mutant strains and associated information to the scientific community.

The Mouse Mutant Resource Database (MMRdb) provides access to naturally occurring and induced variant data from laboratory mouse strains that have Mendelian disease phenotypes, as well as phenotypically normal controls across more than 50 genetic backgrounds.
MMRRC Repository
The MMRRC is the nation’s premier national public repository system for mutant mice. Funded by the NIH continuously since 1999, the MMRRC archives and distributes scientifically valuable spontaneous and induced mutant mouse strains and ES cell lines for use by the biomedical research community.
