While new House rules prevent Democrats from leading committees, it increases the power of the vice-chair position which will still give Democrats some say in legislation.
The Michigan House of Representatives has passed a bill to block the state's minimum wage for tipped workers from into effect, while also attempting to limit paid sick time for those same workers.
The proposals include $2.5 billion for the state’s emergency disaster response efforts, such as evacuations, sheltering survivors and removing household hazardous waste.
