Dallas police Sgt. Thomas Michael Fry is accused of stealing, pawning department firearms, adding to a concerning number of police guns on the streets

DALLAS – A Dallas police sergeant has been indicted on federal gun charges for selling stolen service weapons. Thomas Michael Fry, 52, is facing three counts of possession and sale of stolen firearms, according to Chad Meacham, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

A former Dallas police sergeant was charged last week on federal gun charges, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas. Thomas Michael Fry, 52, was indicted Wednesday with three counts of possession and sale of a stolen firearm,

Investigators found that the sergeant stole at least three 9mm Sig Sauer pistols from a police department substation between August 2021 and July 2022. He then pawned the stolen guns at a pawnshop, according to federal investigators.
